森林中的学校

琪琪几天前刚到新西兰，今天“被迫”就去上学了。

今天25年6月16日，是她第一次在新西兰的小学教育体系里上学。这个学校叫Otari School， 学生只有200来位。

这是一所地处城市森林里一座自然环境优美的Decile 10分的学校。这个学校提供主流英语、毛利语浸润式以及蒙特梭利三种教育方式。它不仅注重学术，更强调文化认同、生态关怀和学生自主性。配套的蒙特梭利课程为社区提供了从幼儿到小学的连续教育路径。整体教学质量高，深受家长与社区肯定。

Otari学校是一所兼具环境优势、多元文化与教育创新的学校。

事情要从4月2日说起，我发邮件给学校副校长Susan, 很快她把邮件转给校长Clifford, 校长很热情很快回覆我的邮件说：在他需要和课程的老师确定一下入学事宜：

I will need to check with the teachers. We only have two classes she could go into.  One is a Montessori class, but has a number of new young students attending and some other needs.  The other is a regular year 7/8 class which two new teachers are sharing, as the teacher is leaving at the end of the term.  I wasn’t keen to ask them to host a visitor as well, straight away. However, June might be okay, so I will ask them and get back to you soon.

最后校长接受了入学申请，在这之后学校蒙特梭利课程负责人Adam就开始联系我，在上周收到学校蒙特梭利课程负责人Adam的邮件：

Thanks for that introduction, we are looking forward to welcoming Peggy next week.

Ōtari School runs our school day from 8:55am to 2:55pm, and children are generally dropped off between 8:30 and 8:50am, and released from classes at 2:55. Children need a provided lunch, drink bottle, and appropriate clothing and footwear for physical activity. We can provide a spare workbook or two if she wants to work on some projects with other students, but if she has some basic stationery or a pencil case that will also help. On Monday, you could bring her to the school office around 8:30am, and someone will meet you there to walk you over to the classroom etc. I will assign a few students to show Peggy around on her first day. A quick reminder that there will be no school next Friday due to the Matariki public holiday, which will also be a focus in class next week. The last week of term will be mostly wrapping up projects and independent work. There will be a strand shared lunch event that some parents will attend on the Thursday before the public holiday at around 12:30pm.

学校离我们家5分钟，早上8点到琪琪到了学校门口直接去了学校办公室，在那里有新同学带她介绍学校环境，9点后在学校礼堂全校聚集在一起。

之后遇到了很多热情的新同学， 好几位一天下来就已经是朋友了，好几位同学晚上还给她写了邮件。

今天她们班有19位同学（还有几位生病没有来），同学年龄从9岁-12岁不等。

她的感觉这是一所all inclusive 包容性很强的学校。她们班的女生很热情，很快就一起玩、聊天。而几位男生会有些害羞，偷偷看她，在背后嘀咕，当她转回去看他们时，他们又装作若无其事。

好有趣的经历，好有趣的学校。
